Local Attractions There is excellent walking and cycling in the local area along the waterways of the canal and the river. Flat tow paths make cycling a pleasure, particularly if you take a picnic to enjoy at the well designed French picnic spots. There are bikes and boats to hire by the canal and a number of excellent restaurants. In the summer months a number of outdoor concerts take place. There is a bustling market on a Saturday morning which is not to be missed Ploermel Lac du Duc is a small beach, safe for swimming, a children's swimming pool, large children's play area, some water sports Golf course Pontivy A picturesque medieval village with attractive houses, chateau, canal and river. There is a market on Tuesday. A good shopping centre for gifts and mementos Malestroit, ST. Marcel Musée de Resistance, an interesting collection of historic facts and artifices from the  2nd World War. Plan for about 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on depth of interest. Market on Thursdays Lisio Pretty town with museums and galleries.
